Eli's Tideglass Ocean Lamp
A Hand-Poured Piece of the Deep Ocean
Made one at a time by Eli Marsh, a 72-year-old former wreck diver from Beaufort, North Carolina — the dives he can no longer take, poured into glass-clear resin and driftwood.
“I couldn’t go to her anymore. So I brought her up to me. Every one of these lamps is a dive I get to take from a chair.”
Built in thin layers over three days, each hand-degassed so no bubble survives. Real optical depth — you look down through water, not at blue plastic.
The diver and the animal are sized to real-world proportion. A whale shark dwarfs the diver to a speck — the honesty is what gives you the quiet gut-punch of awe.
The wood is shaped by hand into the profile of a real reef ledge or wreck. No two are alike, because no two dive sites are alike.
A fine, foaming surf-line worked by hand where water meets stone — the slow step a factory skips. It is where the ocean starts breathing.
A solid wood base that hides the light and sits dead-level for twenty years. Furniture, not a knick-knack.
A USB, button-controlled LED that moves from the gold of a shallow dawn to the cold blue-black of a hundred feet down. One press changes the whole room.
“Most resin decor is poured fast and dyed one flat blue. What sets a piece like this apart is the layered depth and the true scale of the figures — it reads as water to the eye, not as plastic. That only comes from someone who has actually been down there.”
- Genuinely hand-poured — not mass-produced. Each lamp takes about three days to build.
- One of a kind — the wood grain and the placement of every figure are unique to your piece.
- Real optical depth — layered, degassed resin, never a single flat dye.
- Built to last — solid driftwood base, weighted to sit level for decades.
- Final batch — made while Eli’s hands still allow the fine work. There will be no second run.
If the ocean in it doesn’t move you, send one email and return it for a full refund. Free US shipping both ways.

The Final Batch
The Final Batch
A note from the boat shed:
For forty years Eli Marsh dove the Atlantic wrecks off Beaufort, North Carolina. A heart condition and the bends ended his diving for good — so he began pouring the ocean scenes he can no longer swim to, by hand, in resin and driftwood. Now a tremor is taking the fine work too. Only the lamps already on his bench remain. When they ship, the boat shed goes quiet — there is no second batch.

What people see when the light comes on
It sits on my desk now and it’s the calmest thing in the room. On video calls people always ask about it. The little diver next to the wreck gets me every time.

Bought the turtle for my son’s room because he’s ocean-obsessed and we’re nowhere near a beach. He falls asleep facing it every single night.

Opened the box and just stood there. The photos don’t do the glow justice. You can tell a real person made this, not a factory.

Put the manta on the windowsill and the whole room changed at night. Three friends have already asked where I got it.

Gave it to my dad, a retired dive instructor, for his 70th. First time I’ve seen him speechless. Best gift I’ve ever given.

How is each lamp made — and how do I use it?
How is each lamp made — and how do I use it?
Each lamp is hand-poured by Eli Marsh in Beaufort, North Carolina: optical resin built up in layers over about three days, a hand-carved scene of a whale shark, manta ray or sea turtle, and a solid driftwood base. The USB LED plugs into any phone charger or USB port, and a button on the base cycles the light from warm shallows to deep blue. No two lamps are identical.
