"Oscar watched me paint for years. Quiet, from his basket. He saw every brushstroke – never once judged. If he were still here, he'd be wagging his tail today. Not because of the totes. Because I'm finally showing them."

πŸ“’ How this collection came to be

Ruth has painted for over 40 years – and for a long time let no one see it. Three moments that show why these totes are different:

Since childhood

Ruth has painted since she was a girl in Vermont – watercolors, animal portraits, little sketches. All of it ended up in a drawer. When someone told her she was too old for it, she said nothing. And kept painting.

After Oscar

Oscar was her companion for fourteen years. When he died, Ruth started painting him. In the little wool sweater she put on him when it was cold. With the crooked look. With the hat he hated. One painting became twenty.

Today

Her daughter sees the paintings and says: "Mom, that belongs on a tote." Ruth laughs. Then does it anyway – six designs, each painted by hand. No stamp, no stencil – brush on fabric, stroke by stroke.

πŸ” What makes these totes special
πŸ–ŒοΈ
Hand-painted – no print, no stamp Ruth paints each dachshund by hand, directly onto the fabric. You can see where the brush touched down, where it carried more paint. That's not a flaw – that's the proof.
🐾
6 designs, 6 moods Playful, elegant, cheeky, quiet. You choose the design that fits you – and no two are ever exactly alike.
πŸ’§
Colors made to last High-quality textile colors that resist water and won't smudge or fade with proper care. Made to stay vivid and true, wear after wear.
🧼
Simple, gentle care A gentle hand wash keeps the colors bright and the fabric happy. Not made for the washing machine – treat it kindly and it stays beautiful for years.
⏳
Built to last Sturdy cotton, made to last. No fast fashion. A tote that still looks this good in ten years – after hundreds of conversations.
✨
Every tote a true one-of-a-kind No dachshund looks exactly like the next. Slight differences in shade and brushwork aren't a defect – that's handwork, not an assembly line.
πŸ’¬
Starts conversations – guaranteed "Where did you get that?" At the farmers' market, the checkout, the park. This tote makes strangers smile.
🌿
Sustainable through permanence Cotton over plastic, a hand over an assembly line. One tote that lasts replaces hundreds of plastic bags. The most sustainable thing is what stays.

Ruth Callahan, 67

Self-taught painter from Vermont. Has painted for over 40 years – watercolors, animal portraits, little sketches – and for a long time let no one see it. When her dachshund Oscar died, she began painting him. Again and again. In every outfit he ever wore. Until her daughter said: "Mom, that belongs on a tote." Now half the town carries Oscar – and Ruth smiles when someone asks where she got her tote.
