The Astrid Nilsen Porch Goose Outfit is a hand-cut, hand-sewn garden goose costume, made one at a time by 79-year-old Astrid Nilsen at the same sewing table where her own grandmother first taught her to thread a needle. The Story Behind the Sewing Room
After her husband passed, the house went very quiet. Then Astrid's daughter arrived one afternoon with a garden centre bag and a guilty expression: a concrete goose, knee-high, wearing a permanent look of mild surprise.
