Buster's Handpainted Stork
Hand-Painted in Gulfport, Mississippi
Buster Mayfield, 73, hand-paints garden storks in his small Gulf Coast workshop. 22 years of craft β final batch.
"A stork never comes alone. If you put just one in your yard, you're missing the point."
β Buster Mayfield, Gulfport, MS
Did you know? Storks mate for life β they're one of the most loyal birds on the planet. In many cultures, they're a symbol of luck, family, and new beginnings. That's why most of our customers buy two. One stork is nice. A pair tells a story.

What Makes a Mayfield Stork Different
Real Brushwork
Every stork is painted by hand with a brush β never sprayed. Fine feather textures you can see and feel.
UV-Lock Finish
Weatherproof coating that won't fade or peel after two full summers in direct sunlight.
The Silhouette
20 inches tall, true-to-life proportions. From 30 feet away, you see a real stork β not a figurine.
Rust-Proof Legs
Coated metal legs in stork red. They hold firm in the ground, won't rust, survive every winter.
All-Weather Build
Rain, frost, heat β the material holds up. No need to bring them inside for winter.
A Symbol of Luck
Storks have been a sign of good fortune and new beginnings for centuries. Many cultures believe a stork in the yard brings luck to the home.
Expert Endorsement
"Buster Mayfield's storks are among the last true hand-painted garden figures made in an American workshop. The feather detail, the proportions, the brushwork β every step is by hand. You can see the difference from twenty feet away."

Curator, Southern Folk Art Society

A Note on Handmade Variation
Every stork is painted by Buster's own hand β small differences between birds (a slightly different shade of red on the beak, a unique feather line near the eye) are expected. No two storks are identical. That's the whole point.
