Hand-Made in Muskogee, Oklahoma

Brenda Tolliver, 67. Working metal by hand for thirty years. Every summer she has made her American eagles for the Fourth of July. For the country's 250th, she's making her last.

"The first one was never meant to be sold. I made it for my father's grave — he served in Korea and almost never spoke of it. Folks at the cemetery saw it and started asking. That's how it began, one eagle at a time."

— Brenda Tolliver, Muskogee, Oklahoma

Why This Eagle

Six Things You Won't Find on a Cheap Import

Every detail below is the result of thirty years of making the same thing by hand — and refusing to cut a corner on any of them.

✦ Material

Heavy-Gauge American Steel

Not the thin tin that bends in your hand and arrives the size of a dinner plate. This is heavy-gauge steel, cut and shaped by hand. Pick it up once and you can feel the difference between a real piece and a Facebook-ad knock-off.

✦ Finish

Hand-Painted, Layer by Layer

The deep blue of the field, the red and white through the wings, the white crown of the head — brushed on by hand, layer after layer, with a UV-stable finish over the top. It won't fade to the sad pink the cheap ones turn by August.

✦ Built to Stay

Primed So Rust Never Takes Hold

The bare metal is primed before a drop of color goes on, so rust never gets a foothold. It stands through sun, rain, and wind, season after season — left out from Memorial Day clear through Veterans Day, year after year.

✦ Size

A Full 66 Inches Tall

Taller than most of the "jumbo" eagles in the photos — 66″ high, 32″ wide, 21″ deep. The picture is the product. What you see is exactly what arrives at your door.

✦ Made Here

Made & Shipped in the USA

Made by hand in the United States and shipped from a U.S. warehouse — not bent into a box overseas. If anything's wrong, a real person answers here in the States, not a dead return address.

✦ One at a Time

No Assembly Line — No Two Alike

Each eagle takes the better part of two days. It is cut, shaped, and hand-painted individually, which is why no two are ever exactly the same. There never was an assembly line, and there never will be.

✦ Craft Note

"The difference between a hand-built metal piece and a stamped import is obvious the moment you hold both. Heavy-gauge steel that's been hand-primed and finished with a UV-stable coat will hold its color and shape outdoors for years, where a thin printed import fades and rusts within a season. What's being made here is the real thing — the same way these pieces have been built by hand for generations."

Quality Promise

Five Things You Get With Every Eagle

100% Hand-Made by Brenda Every eagle is cut, shaped, painted, and inspected by Brenda herself — no factory, no assembly line, no shortcuts.
Heavy-Gauge Steel — Not Thin Tin Built from real, heavy-gauge American steel that holds its shape and stands up to the wind — not the flimsy metal that bends on the cheap imports.
Hand-Painted, UV-Stable Finish Primed against rust and sealed with a UV-stable coat. It won't crack, peel, or fade to pink the way the printed knock-offs do by August.
A Full 66 Inches — The Photo Is the Product 66″ tall, 32″ wide, 21″ deep. What you see is what arrives — no shrinking it down to the size of your hand.
Final Collection — No Reorders This is Brenda's last summer. When her hands set down the brush at the end of July, the workshop closes for good. Once these are gone, there will be no restock.
✦ ✦ ✦

30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

If the eagle doesn't feel right when it arrives — the weight, the finish, the size, anything — send it back within 30 days for a full refund. No overseas return address, no runaround. Just an email to our team here in the States.

✦ A Note From Muskogee

Brenda hand-finishes every eagle and looks over each one before it ships. Slight variations in the brushwork and the shaping of the metal are a natural part of handmade work — no two eagles are exactly alike, and that is by design. The steel is cut by hand. The paint is brushed on, layer by layer. Each one takes the better part of two days. These aren't flaws. They are the maker's hand at work — thirty years of it.

What people say about Brenda's Eagle

Put him up on the garden wall by my flower beds and light him with a little spotlight in the evenings, and honestly he looks even better at night than in the daytime. The wings throw the prettiest shadow on that wall. My husband gave 28 years to the police force, that's the blue line flag next to him, and now it all just belongs together out there. Real proud of this one.

I had to grab a picture the second I got him set up out front by the porch. The colors are so bright the photo doesn't even do him justice. He's heavy and solid too, none of that thin tin like the junk I ordered online one time and sent right back. The neighbor across the road already came over to ask where I got him

Susan, Ohio

My daughter got this for me and I always tell everybody I don't need a thing, but this one got me. I served in Vietnam, and seeing that eagle in the colors of the flag means more than I can really put into words. He stands out back now where I have my coffee every morning. Well made too, good and sturdy, nothing on him wobbles.

Was nervous ordering after some bad luck online, but this is the real deal. He's big, way bigger than I expected, stands right up tall by my back steps and you can see him from the road. Paint is solid and even, and he held through a couple storms already without a mark. Wish I'd bought him sooner!!

How is each blanket actually made?

Every Sun-and-Tide Blanket is hand-woven by Linnea herself in her small workshop above the Mendocino bay. Each blanket takes 14+ hours of skilled handwork — cutting the cotton panels, hand-weaving the outer shell stitch by stitch, sewing on the appliquéd woven sun-and-tide motif (woven-sun wheels, sunflowers, headlights, square windows) piece by piece, then finishing with the YKK zipper, padded handles, and lining.

No assembly line. No outsourcing. No two blankets are exactly alike.
